Love was in the air at Payson Junior High. The students of PJHS were in a lovely mood this Valentines day season. Students bought candies, flowers, and wrote notes to their fellow students. The PJHS student council organized, sorted, and sold the candies and flowers to the students. The student council sold the items at lunch February 2nd-10th. The students could either buy something, write a note, and have it delivered,or they could just write a note to make their friends day.

Money Wars Assembly

Payson Jr. High students raised over One Thousand Dollars for Primary Children's Hospital.

Every year the Student Council does a fundraiser for a good cause.  This year they decided to raise the money for Primary Children's Hospital.  They decided it would be a battle between the grades.  The winning grade got to go an embarrassing teacher assembly.  After a tight competition for a week and half, with some Mr. Swenson curveballs (extra money for a grade) the 9th graders came out on top.  All the combined grades raised 1,300 dollars.

The class of Latinos in Action recently went to  a mini conference at Dixon Middle School. There, we joined up with different schools like Diamond Fork and Mt. Nebo. At the conference we did community service, played games, and listened to a speaker to tell us about his life story.

We love you, Mrs. Staheli!

On Tuesday, February 17, students and teachers gathered to honor our beloved librarian, LuAnn Staheli, and plant a tree in her honor.

Members of Mrs. Staheli’s family came to the school to be a part of this tribute. Her husband, Mike, beautifully expressed the love that his dear wife had for her students and how special Payson Junior has been to their family.
