If you like doing digital art or would like to learn how, there is a summer art class now available. It is Tuesday mornings in Springville. The class is taught by an artist who currently works for Lucasfilm Animation as an assistant technical director on their tv shows. All skill levels are welcome. All you need is an iPad and a stylus (like an Apple Pencil). Spots for the summer are filling up, so check out sharpenedstylus.com or call Nathan Allen, the instructor, at 747-231-1178 for more details and to sign up.

Spanish Class News and Announcement

Many of our students turn 15 in Junior High. The quinceañera celebration is a tradition among many Spanish speaking countries.  This tradition has been carried on for many years in many communities. In our Spanish classes we have been learning about the tradition and the meaning of it.  Last week we had our mini-celebrations of the quinceanera.  Students were able to try on an authentic quinceanera dress. Students have been learning the history of merengue and salsa dances as well.

Our 9th graders will take the Utah Aspire Plus assessment this year. The Utah Aspire Plus assessment is a hybrid of ACT Aspire and Utah Core test items. It is an end-of-grade-level high school assessment for students in 9th and 10th grade. Utah Aspire Plus includes four subtests: Reading, English, Mathematics, and Science. Students receive predicted ACT score ranges for each subtest, as well as an overall predicted composite ACT score range.
