Upcoming Cinco de mayo Event in Payson

Submitted by chris.killpack on Thu, 04/27/2023 - 10:00

In our Spanish classes at PJHS we learn about Cinco de mayo which of course is NOT Mexico's independence day but another opportunity to celebrate Mexico's beginnings of freedom.  Mexico celebrates a memorable battle against the French that took place in the town of Puebla.  Puebla is such a beautiful place - it is highly recommended to visit if you get the opportunity.

Payson City is celebrating Cinco de mayo next week at the Peteetneet Amphitheater at 10 S. 600 E. Payson UT.  Come enjoy great music and authentic foods!

The 8th grade Peer Leadership Class made Hygiene Kits for Refugees in Bangladesh. Click the story to see all the pics. They started with a Telethon where they called local businesses and residents to ask for donations. We had a tremendous outpouring from the public including: residents, police departments, dentists and businesses in Spanish Fork, Salem, Santaquin, Payson, and Genola areas. They collected and organized the donations supplementing what they needed with monetary donations.
