Every month, a department nominates one girl and one boy from each grade to be the students of the month. They are nominated based on their respect, kindness, and attitude in the classroom. This month's students are Adan Figueroa (7th), Jelaiah Williams (7th), Chandler Hoyt (8th), Tori Rasmussen (8th), Jake Whaley (9th), and Randee Jensen (9th). We are so proud to be represented by these stellar students.

Guadalupe Cortes received this month's Mayor's Award. She was elected LIA ( Latinos in Action) president by her peers. Guadalupe has an excellent predisposition to help anybody who needs it. She sets her goals and successfully masters them. Her excellent sense of humor, charismatic personality, make her an excellent leadership choice . This last two weeks, she showed her leadership qualities and engaged with the whole classroom. Everyday in class, I can see her using strategies and engage in doing assignments with her classmates.
