Today at Payson Jr. High, we held an assembly to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Students participated in the 500 Mile Walk touting the anti-bullying posters they'd made with the help of their teachers and fellow classmates. At the assembly, students sang encouraging songs to help us remember the importance of being a friend to everyone. We also heard from some of the baseball players at Brigham Young University who shared some of their experiences and wisdom about being kind and choosing good friends. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved! Remember, Grizzlies: bullying is trash.
On Friday October 6, the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce honored several individuals and organizations for supporting education. These individuals were honored because of their support to education from cash donations, volunteering, and help in many other ways.
Chad Rowley, representing Cherry Hill Farms and Payson Fruit Growers, was honored from Payson Junior High School. These organizations help have helped PJHS through the years by providing employment for students, helping with apples for activities, and many other ways.
This month, our student Addi Slider was awarded the Mayor's Youth Recognition Award by the Payson City Council. This award recognizes Addi's positive attitude and kindness toward other Payson Jr. High students. Addi was nominated for this award by teachers who have experienced and appreciated her contributions. Here's what some of them have to say:
