PJHS Parents and Students,

GRIZZLY GROWLS

Wow, Term 1 is pretty well done! That was quick! If students are still missing work they need to get it in as soon as possible. Now might be a good time to review Term 1 and look for things that can be done to improve for Term 2!

A group of students from various English classes went to see "Catch Me If You Can" (the musical) at Hale Center Theater in Orem. The musical was filled with amazing talent and music, plenty of laughs, and a story-line never to forget. Already looking forward to the next show!

Our next badminton tournament is on October 31st! We had over 40 students participate in the recent doubles tournament and all had a smashing good time! We would like even more for this one. It is singles and there will be beginner and experienced divisions.    Students that haven't played can try it out before/after school, at lunch or during Den Time.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Payson FFA members were happy to "get the blues" this year at the Utah State Fair.  By blues we mean blue ribbons of course.  Students from Payson competing at the fair did very well.  They competed in a variety of areas including; market hogs, lambs, steers, and crops.  All agriculture classes at the junior high and high school attended a day at the fair where they were able to view agricultural exhibits from around the state.  Congrats to all of those members that competed!

Animal Science Goes To The Zoo

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

The Animal Science class took a field trip to Hogle Zoo on October 4th.  The class focuses on a variety of animal science principals including; uses, care, economic impacts, and animal systems.  The zoo field trip is a great way to educate students on animals not typically seen in our community. In preparation for the field trip students were assigned to research several animals found at a zoo and record their findings.  Many of the animals researched were found at the zoo and students were able to see their research in real life.

Ellee Barton - Payson City Mayor Recognition Award Recipient For October

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Congratulations to Ellee Barton for being selected for the Payson City Mayor's Recognition Award for October! Ellee is an 8th grader who always has a positive attitude. She is a member of the Hope Squad at Payson Junior High.  She is a student that we can count on to help us with whatever is needed.  Whenever Ellee notices a student that is sad, she is quick to let the counselors know that she is concerned. She is truly making a difference in the lives of many students.
