Student taking a written exam

Our 9th graders will take the Utah Aspire Plus assessment this year. The Utah Aspire Plus assessment is a hybrid of ACT Aspire and Utah Core test items. It is an end-of-grade-level high school assessment for students in 9th and 10th grade. Utah Aspire Plus includes four subtests: Reading, English, Mathematics, and Science. Students receive predicted ACT score ranges for each subtest, as well as an overall predicted composite ACT score range.
The Utah Aspire Plus is a timed test, so students will complete the test in four sessions. Beginning on April 26th, and continuing through May 4th, we will be adjusting our school schedule to create a 90 minute period each day (with other classes being shorter than normal). First period will be longer on the 26th, second period on the 27th and so forth - watch for a link with the full testing schedule to be sent in a future email. Students will be taking their test sections during these longer classes.
For 8th grade, students will take the Readiness Improvement Success Empowerment (RISE) assessment this year. The RISE is a computer adaptive criterion referenced assessment system that includes summative tests for English Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics, and Science. All 8th grade testing will be done in English, science, and math classes from April 26th to May 4th.
With testing coming up, please take a moment to make sure all student Chromebooks are ready and that the Chromebook has been updated as well (Updating Chrome OS). Follow the tips here for help getting Chromebooks ready if they are not working properly: Chromebook Help. Make sure Chromebooks are being charged every night and bring chargers to school just in case. If you need help or there is an issue you cannot fix with a school issued Chromebook, please talk to Ms. Ogden in room B-53a.
