9th Grade CCR Meetings

We have begun our College & Career Readiness planning meetings.  These meetings are individual meetings involving parent/guardian, student, and student's counselor to plan and prepare for college & careers.  Also during this meeting, we will help your student choose the classes they would like to take next year at the high school.  There is a link below to a list of courses available to PHS 10th grade students.  There is also a link to the PHS course description booklet which is full of valuable information regarding the different courses.  It is helpful to have a counselor involved in this process to aid in meeting graduation requirements as well as pointing students toward classes that tie into their interests.  We look forward to meeting with each of you.

Here is a link to a google form that includes a short informational video, as well as links to schedule an appointment with your student's counselor.

Parent Conferences This Thursday

We would love to see parents and students this Thursday evening, Feb. 2nd, to visit with teachers about mid-term grades. Teachers will be available between 3:00 and 8:00 pm in their classrooms to meet. Students are once again awarded detention make-up hours for seeing each of their teachers that evening. Pick up the form for teachers to sign in the front office.

Valentine’s Dance Coming Up

Mark your calendars for Friday, February 17th for our Valentine’s Dance from 6 to 8 pm. Admission will be $4 with student ID and $5 without. Must be a student at PJHS with 2 or fewer hours of detention to be admitted. School dress code still applies to the dance. All conduct must be in compliance with school rules. If conduct is not in accordance with school rules then the student(s) will be removed from the dance and not be allowed to attend future dances at the school.

Peer Leadership Food Drive

This month the 9th grade Peer Leadership Team is doing a Food drive. Please bring non-perishable food to school any day in the month of February. Students can take donations to their advisory class or Mr. Pyne in Port #1. We will count the cans to see which advisory class wins.
