Health Reminder
Like elsewhere in the community, we have seen an increase in COVID-19 positives in the last couple weeks. (Please see the Nebo District COVID-19 dashboard for more information.) If your child is sick, please keep them home from school until they are feeling better. Our teachers have worked hard this year to make work available online for students who are absent. We are grateful for their efforts!
PE Personal Items
All PE students’ lockers have been cleaned out. If students think they are missing personal items from their PE locker, they can contact the PE teachers this week to look through the stored items. After this week, the items will be added to the school’s lost and found or donated.
Thankful Thursday Food Donations
It's time for Thankful Thursday! The PTA would like to provide yogurt and granola bars for the teachers. If you are able to help donate, you can sign up using this link. Please drop your donations off at the front office by 9am on Thursday January 20, 2022. Thank you so much for your help!
PJHS TSA Club
Payson Jr. High TSA (Technology Student Association) meets every Tuesday at 2:45 in Mr. Young and Mr. Hunter's class. We do service projects and competitions in the Technology and Engineering areas. We are preparing for the Utah TSA conference and competition which is on March 15 at the Davis Conference Center. We have 37 different contests we can compete in. Come join us if you like a good challenge and fun.
Badminton Tournament
Mixed Doubles Badminton Challenge! Boy Girl teams (get your brother, sister, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandmother) Valentines Day - February 14th after school (2:30-4:30) Rackets and birds will be provided. Space is limited. Sign up with Mr. Archer eric.archer [at] nebo.edu
Closed Campus Reminder
We want to remind students and parents that PJHS, as well as all junior high schools in our district, is a closed campus. This means students need to be checked out of school by a parent in order to leave campus during the day. We currently have many students leaving campus to walk to the gas station, Little Caesars, or Sip ‘N throughout the day. Without staff supervision or a parent’s check-out, students are placing themselves in a potentially risky situation. We want to encourage students to adhere to the closed campus policy.
Student Weekly Challenge
Many students will be starting new classes this week. The weekly challenge is to make a good impression in your new classes - on both teachers and other students!
