Talk to your child about why going to school every day is critical and important unless they are sick. If your child seems reluctant to go to school, find out why and work with the teacher, administrator or afterschool provider to get them excited about going to school.

Well hopefully you and your student survived the first day of school! It was a success from what we have seen. The best part is it only gets easier from here on out!

As a school we want to thank parents and students for making Payson Junior High what it is today! We encourage parents and students to get involved in our school! We truly believe that every student matters! Along those same lines parents, remember you have the most influence in your students’ lives, keep encouraging them to work hard and together we will have a successful year!

New Ag Teacher Joins PJHS

This year PJHS is pleased to welcome Mrs. Lindsy Thomas to our school. Mrs. Thomas will be teaching Animal and Ag Science in the afternoons.

Mrs. Thomas enthusiastically adds, "I grew up in Payson and attended Payson Junior High.  After graduating from Utah State University my husband and I moved several times.  We've lived in Iowa, Illinois, California, and now back to Utah.  I have always wanted to return to Payson and I am thrilled to be teaching in my hometown!"

7th Grade Day

Parents, 

PJHS will host our 7th grade day for all incoming 7TH GRADE STUDENTS on Monday, August 22nd from 9:00AM to 11:00AM! Students will have an opportunity to hear from the faculty and staff AND go to each class to meet teachers! Students will also be able to practice opening their lockers and get familiar with where everything is at the school. Parents are welcome! Please mark your calendars. 

We are going to have a GRREEAAATTTT school year!

¿Habla Español? Mrs. Debra Hulet does! Mrs. Hulet joined the faculty of PJHS this school year and will be teaching Spanish in the afternoons. 

Mrs. Hulet elaborates, "I’m very excited to be at both Payson Junior High and Payson High School this year after a long break from teaching to focus on writing. I grew up in Las Vegas and received my B.A. in English Literature and Spanish Language at BYU. I lived in Venezuela for eight years where I taught some ESL (English as a Second Language) and did translation work.

Meet Our Newest Math Teacher

Miss Brie LeBaron will be teaching 7th and 8th grade math classes this school year. She is excited to join the PJHS faculty and adds, " I have always loved learning new things and sharing what I learn with others. I attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah where the sagebrush grows. ​​During my free time I enjoy being with my family, playing games and sports, hiking, playing guitar, and writing in my novel."
