The recipient of the Mayor Award for January is PJHS student Viviana Lopez. Viviana was selected for this award because of her hard work in school, her willingness to participate and help others, and her positive attitude. Here are what some of Viviana's teachers have to say:

PTA Clothing Drive

Attributions:

The Payson PTA is sponsoring a clothing drive/fundraiser, and they need your help! They're looking for clothes, shoes, bedding, towels, soft toys, fabric, and accessories (e.g. purses).

This is a textile drive run by GiveIt. GiveIt is a charity organization for the MS Foundation. Funds raised will go toward SEP dinners, the Reflections Contest, and Teacher Appreciation Week.

There will be contest between 3rd period classes for a doughnut part. It will run from December 11-January 10. The goal is to fill 300 bags, schoolwide, with donations.

Money Wars

Attributions:

This week through December 19th, Payson Jr. High is participating in Money Wars. Students who are able are asked to bring cash donations to lunch and put them in the jar for their respective grades. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to have a positive, direct impact on the lives of a Payson family in need. The grade which raises the most amount of money will also have the chance to attend the Mr. Grizzly assembly next week.

December Mayor Youth Recognition Award

The recipient of the Mayor Youth Recognition Award for December is Hayley Ringger. Hayley is receiving this award for her outstanding positive attitude, willingness to help others, and the kindness she shows to her fellow students at PJHS. Take a look at what some of the faculty members at our school have to say about Hayley:

"I had Hayley last year in 7th grade Honors Math.  She is such a positive person and always went the extra mile in my class.  She has a great attitude and enthusiasm for everything she does.  Hayley is perfect for this award!" – Mrs. Purcell
