PJHS Counselor Selected as Educator of the Week

Payson Jr. High School counselor John Plaisted was selected this week as the Daily Herald's Educator of the Week. From the article: "John Plaisted’s main objective is to help students be successful. As a counselor, he not only performs his daily and routine tasks, but he also looks for ways to help and encourage students to be successful students." We are thankful to have Mr. Plaisted as a counselor for our students at Payson Jr. High. Thanks for all you do, John!

Nebo School District Parent Night

On Monday, January 8, 2018, Nebo School District will present a Parent Awareness Night under Utah House Bill 329, "Programs for Youth Protection." The topics of discussion will include improving mental health, and safety planning with youth; several community service providers will be present to answer questions and help individuals access services. This event will take place on Monday, January 8, 2018, at 6:30 pm at Spanish Fork High School (99 N 300 W Spanish Fork, Utah) in the auditorium. Some schools will grant their students detention credit if they attend with their parents.

PTA Clothing Drive

The Payson PTA is sponsoring a clothing drive/fundraiser, and they need your help! They're looking for clothes, shoes, bedding, towels, soft toys, fabric, and accessories (e.g. purses).

This is a textile drive run by GiveIt. GiveIt is a charity organization for the MS Foundation. Funds raised will go toward SEP dinners, the Reflections Contest, and Teacher Appreciation Week.

There will be contest between 3rd period classes for a doughnut part. It will run from December 11-January 10. The goal is to fill 300 bags, schoolwide, with donations.

Money Wars

This week through December 19th, Payson Jr. High is participating in Money Wars. Students who are able are asked to bring cash donations to lunch and put them in the jar for their respective grades. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to have a positive, direct impact on the lives of a Payson family in need. The grade which raises the most amount of money will also have the chance to attend the Mr. Grizzly assembly next week.

Hayley is receiving this award for her outstanding positive attitude, willingness to help others, and the kindness she shows to her fellow students at PJHS. November Students of the Month

Each month, teachers from one department at PJHS pick students who are respectful, hard-working, and show genuine kindness to those around them. These students then become the Students of the Month. The students of the month for November are Gage Hooper, Riann Joel, Willow Welch, Dillan Hayward, Tatumn Coon, and Jaden Wickham. Great job being kind and amazing!
