On Monday, January 28th, the top two teams from each school, Payson Junior HIgh School, Mapleton Junior HIgh School, and Diamond Fork Junior High School, met to compete in a district Battle of the Books challenge.  The students were terrific! The teams each read 20 books and then prepared to answer questions about those 20 books. They also had to memorize the titles and authors to all 20 books! First place went to Payson Junior High School’s FBI team.  Great work Grizzlies!

Congratulations to Trista Larsen for earning the Mayor's Award in January!  Teachers had a lot of wonderful things to say about her.  She is a dynamite,  hard-working, and diligent student. She is responsible and mature to ask questions when she has them. She is well-mannered and a great example to her peers. Trista is also very considerate of others, extremely respectful and honest. She completes all of her work without fail and provides a positive example to other students.  She is kind and compassionate to others as well.  Trista is very motivated to help other people and to do well in her classes. She is respectful and a wonderful student. We are so proud of her, and we are so lucky to have her as a student at Payson Junior High School.

Attendance Matters

Submitted by allison.mower on Mon, 01/07/2019 - 11:44

Every Student, Every Class, Every Day, ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

New Attendance emails: We have instituted a new communication tool to help parents and students monitor school attendance. Each Friday afternoon an email will be sent to parents and students regarding any attendance concerns and any detention owed. Please review this email and work with your student to make a plan to make up any detention owed.

Did you know……... When students are absent for fewer days, their grades and reading skills often improve—even among those students who are struggling in school. Students who attend school regularly also feel more connected to their community, develop important social skills and friendships, and are significantly more likely to graduate from high school, setting them up for a strong future.
