September 8 Grizzly UpdatePublished by alesha.lemmon on Thu, 09/08/2016 - 09:20
PJHS Parents and Students,
Come up with back up plans for who to turn to (another family member, a neighbor or fellow parents) to help you get your child to school if something comes up (e.g. another child gets sick, your car breaks down, etc.).
Great news everyone! 4H Clubs will be starting next week! This year we have many fun and exciting clubs to join. This is a great opportunity to make new friends and have some fun. Clubs that will be offered for fall include two different food clubs on Monday and Tuesday, Maker Club on Tuesday, Robotics on Wednesday, and Pinterest on Thursday. More clubs will be added soon and throughout the year. There is also a homework help club Tuesday through Friday mornings starting at 7:20 with Mrs. Wagner in room D-148. Look for flyers and posters in the hallways for more information or see Miss Ogden in room C-66. The club times are Mondays 2:00-3:30 and Tuesday-Friday 2:45-4:30
The PTSA would like to thank “Plunder”, a local store, that made a donation to the PTSA that will really help get them going for the year.
We would encourage all parents and students to join our PTSA! It is a great group that helps the students and teachers throughout the entire year!
The first meeting for the PTSA will be on Sept. 8th during out Den Time, 10:28-10:51, we encourage all parents and students to come attend this meeting.
You can follow the PTSA on Facebook, search Payson Junior High PTSA or click on https://www.facebook.com/search/1786573121588442/local_search?surface=tyah
SPIRIT WEEK IS NEXT WEEK! The school would like to promote school spirit by having students purchase and wear a “Grizzly Nation” t-shirt. The green ones are $6 and the grey ones are $8. We encourage students to wear these shirts on Fridays to show their school spirit.
We will have more information on announcements about each day’s theme and activities! Check the right side of our website for daily announcements.
Jr. High Girls’ Tennis is underway with a match on Thursday, September 8th. Practice is every week night after school.
Attention Loafer Mountain Hikers. The school hike is tomorrow, September 9th. If your permission paper is not turned in by today than you will not be able to attend. If you have any questions see Mr. Archer ASAP. Again; all hike permission papers need to be signed and turned in by today in order to go on tomorrow's hike.
Cross Country has begun! Every day from 2:45-4:00 the team practices together by the backstop at the end of E Hall. Races are on Fridays and are a mile and a half long. It's a great way to get fit for other sports, meet new friends, and challenge yourself. Paperwork can be found with Mr. Bird in the Media Center. Come running with us!
