At the beginning of the month Payson Jr. High's Shakespeare Team set out to Cedar City for Southern Utah University's annual Shakespeare Competition. There, the students were able to compete with their prepared pieces as well as participate in the multitude of workshops designed to help students delve deeper into The Bard's text and glean from it what is needed to both appreciate and perform in Will’s many works.

While down there, they were lucky enough to organize time and take a tour through the Randall L. Jones’ backstage and see the inner workings required to produce one of their high quality productions. The students were able to see Utah Shakespeare Festival’s production of Two Gentlemen of Verona as well as SUU’s gender bent version of Hamlet.
