PJHS Parents,

As I have pointed out in previous newsletters, Nebo School District is reading and using the book “Teach Like A Pirate” by Dave Burgess to guide educators, office staff and support professionals through this school year. The author engages readers by asking questions that require introspection. He wants his readers to consider the rapport they have with students and peers, to examine professional passion for teaching and working with students and to think on the level of enthusiasm they have for what they do. PJHS teachers have professional passion for creating lifelong learners, increasing self-confidence of our students and leaving students with a larger vision of what is possible for their lives. We count it a privilege to work with our students.

GRIZZLY GROWLS

Serving Detentions

We are closing in on the end of Term 1 and in order to qualify for many of the Grizzly activities next term and avoid truancy, tardies need to be made up by serving detention time. The times are as follows:

  • After School - Students can serve detention on Mondays and Wednesdays in Room A23.

  • Before School - Mrs. Wagner’s Room D148 (must let teacher know it is for detention).

  • Den Time - Room A23 Monday through Thursday - ONLY WITH ALL PASSING GRADES.

“X” Marks the SPOT

In the October 2015 issue of the Nebo News, PJHS PE teacher Jennifer Braithwaite was recognized for her excellent efforts. She was nominated by Jesse Sorenson who said, “Jennifer was instrumental in securing a grant valued at over $17,500 of cycling equipment as an innovative way to help students.” Congratulations, Mrs. Braithwaite!
