Payson Junior High School offers 2 hikes a year, the Loafer Mountain hike in the Fall and the Big Tree hike in the Spring.  These are great outdoor activities that all students are welcome to attend.  Students that haven’t hiked with the school before need to qualify by passing a physical and written test.  The Loafer Mountain hike is a 12-mile round trip with a beautiful view of Utah Valley.

September 9, 2016 was PJHS’s 10th anniversary of being on the mountain with our largest group (38 students, 3 staff and 3 parents).  We enjoyed beautiful Fall weather and colors.  Thanks to all the great students, teachers and parents that make this a Payson Junior High School tradition.  If you missed out on Loafer hike, mark your calendar for May and the Big Tree hike. We will have a firm date in the spring.
